How to reset a schlage door lock. Wait for the schlage button to flash amber or orange and beep three times. No more hiding keys under the doormat or losing track of copies. Press the schlage button.

Press the program button twice enter the same or a new code and then press the lock button once. Press and hold the schlage button for at least 5 seconds. This must be done within five seconds of completing step 2. For most electronic keyless door locks you will still have to unlock your door before getting the chance to reset your code to change it into something that you will most likely remember the next time.

Press and hold 1 2 keypad for two seconds. Enter your keyless entry door factory code. Store your settings by pressing the 1 2 button for driver 1 or the 3 4 button for driver 2. Manually put the bolt in the extended lock position.

The schlage button will remain illuminated to indicate the lock ready for reprogramming. Step 3 dial in the keypad. The schlage keypad locks are perfect for use on front doors garage entry doors and side and back doors. Press the button within five seconds.

Wait for the doors to lock. With a keypad deadbolt or lever you can control entry to your home more easily and securely. Enter this six digit programming code using the number keys on the keypad. Remove the cover plate of the schlage door lock using a screw driver.

If your old code still remains in the unit you will need to perform a hard reset of the unit. Press and release the 1 2 keypad briefly. Setting a keyless door lock is one thing but resetting it especially if you have lost or forgotten your code is an entirely different thing. Some videos take 8 minutes to explain this.
